<b>Voluntary Health Association of Maharashtra (VHAM)</b><br><br>
VHAM celebrated World Health Day on 7th April, 2005. The theme was “ Make every mother & Child Count”. The programme was held in the Anatomy Lecturer Hall and included Symposium & Exhibition on the theme. The undergraduate and post-graduate students from the various departments of the MGIMS participated in the programme.<br><br>VHAM organised a workshop on “Capacity Building of its Member NGOs in Vidharbha Region” in colloboration with “Hind Kustha Nivaran Sangh” Mumbai from 24-25 June 2005 at Department of Community Medicine, MGI MS Sewagram. Total 16 participants participated from Member NGOs.<br><br>VHAM also organized a Leprosy Training to Para-Medical Staff of NGOs and one day workshop for Private Medical Practitioners at Hotel Pacific, Gondia. on 11th December 2005. VHAM in collaboration with Nagpur Municipal Corporation and Nagpur Shramik Patrakar Sangh conducted a workshop on “PNDT, Birth Registration and Leprosy” on 28th Dec. 2005 at Tilak Patrakar Bhavan, Nagpur.<br><br>In the month of July the Headquarter of Voluntary Health Association of Maharashtra was shifted to Sewagram however a camp office has been started at Mumbai under supervision of Dr.V.V. Dongre.<br><br>VHAM translated two issues of HCAN into Marathi, one on “SHGs and Women Empowerment” and another on “Government of India Schemes for NGOs” and the same were circulated to all the member organizations.<br><br>VHAM has identified the specific programmes in the coming year, like 1) IDD Awareness creation in collaboration with UNICEF, HIV/AIDS Awareness, Leprosy related work and RCH.
