<b>Kerala Voluntary Health Service (KVHA)</b><br><br>
<b>1. Health Promotion Programme</b><br>Kerala Voluntary Health Services started its school based health promotion programme in five schools of Kottayam District. Health promotion clubs were formed in each school with students, teachers and PTA representatives as members. An IEC material developed in the form of a snake and ladder which depicts healthy life styles.<br><br><b>2. Collaboration with American Cancer Society</b><br>KVHS entered into an agreement with American Cancer Society to implement a programme to mobilize community support and enhance community awareness on legal provisions pertaining to second hand smoke exposure in public places.<br><br>3. RCH Programme<b></b><br>Kerala Voluntary Health Services organized a five days capacity building training for its Field NGOs on Reproductive and Child Health (RCH). The objective of the programme was to familiarize the FNGOs on RCH components and train the staff to implement RCH service delivery in the project areas. Special sessions on community mobilization and planning were included.<br><br><b>4. Chikungunya control programme</b><br> In response to the epidemic outbreak Chikungunya, Kerala VHS in collaboration with health department initiated measures to control its spreading in the state. IEC materials were developed and distributed through schools, hospitals and member organisations.
