<br><b>State Level Workshop on HIV/AIDS </b><br>
During the year 2005 -2006, VHAJ has completed 19th months of its formation. For a state level NGO forum it has twin task of getting recognition at state level as well as strengthen its grassroot NGOs network for community level health intervention. The year has observed series of meetings with development agencies, government departments and NGOs. This has followed up with proposal submission for fund mobilization and local action.<br><br>VHAJ organized a three day “Orientation/Training on Declining Sex Ratio” in collaboration with REDS, Chennai and Karnataka VHA funded by SIMAVI for its members and other NGOs. VHAJ collaborated with Action India for organizing 3 regional workshops each at Daltonganj, Jamshedpur and Deoghar. VHAJ participated in several workshops, meetings and programs on health and development issues which were organized by state, local health authorities, national, international agencies and other like minded organizations.<br><br>VHAJ conducted a survey on sexual and reproductive health in 10 villages of Khunti block of Ranchi district for compiling situational assessment and community based intervention. VHAJ collected and examined 20467 slides from Sanahatu and Bero blocks of Ranchi under Malaria Control Program “Catch up Round”, Government of Jharkhand. In order to mobilize the resources for the newly formed State Chapter, VHAJ submitted concept note and proposal to various local and state health authorities, bilateral and local agencies.<br><br>In the year 2005-06 VHAJ membership base has increased from 88 to 94 as six more grassroots NGOs have taken membership. This has further contributed to widen its forum for people centered health programme advocacy. Within short span of nearly two years of its formation, VHAJ became a forum of 94 NGOs thus placing before civil society and Govt as single NGO Network in the state of Jharkhand for representing people health needs collectively. VHAJ has organized network partners meeting to campaign on health issues in their respective areas. The all 94 network Patner NGOs organized various health campaign on mother & child health, immunization, HIV/AIDS, and TB/Malaria disease through pamphlets, poster, AV CD, street plays, folk cultural shows. VHAJ has shared with them VHAI developed resource materials on Rights based intervention.<br><br>During the year 2005-06, VHAJ has made a sale worth of Rs.89,285/- of VHAI publications and earned 20% in its general fund. VHAJ also published a ‘Newsletter on Tuberculosis’.
