<b>Himachal Pradesh VHA</b><br><br>HPVHA was selected as Mother NGO under MNGO-RCH-II by MoHFW, Govt. of India for the Mandi and Bilaspur districts of Himachal Pradesh. The District RCH Committee had recommended their Project Proposal with slight modifications. The programme implementation is through Field NGOs who are working in the districts and who had been finalised by District RCH Committee. The Scheme focuses on addressing the unmet RCH needs. In this phase, MNGO along with FNGOs will be moving from exclusive awareness generation to actual delivery of RCH services. This will be done by utilizing and strengthening of existing Govt. infrastructure and human resources. The main objectives of this program are to achieve the 100% early registration of the pregnant women of their project areas, at least three ANC check ups, institutional deliveries, 100% immunization of the children, to reduce the unmet need for spacing, promotion of Janani Suraksha Yojna etc. HPVHA had organized various orientation workshops for its Field NGOs.<br><br>HPVHA in collaboration with EPOS (GTZ) had organized a sensitization meeting for the Behaviour Change Communication for the field workers of NGOs on 25th to 27th November, 2005 at HPVHA Conference Hall to enhance their involvement in the National Health Programmes. HPVHA also organized various trainings/sensitization programmes on perspective building to improve reproductive health of women in H.P.<br><br>H.P. VHA was selected under AYUSH-IEC-MNGO Scheme for Kangra District. This project was implemented through the NGO Partners, Himachal Nature Care and ERA in this district. H.P.VHA facilitated and gave training inputs during various programmes organized by the Partner under this Scheme.<br><br>H.P.VHA has launched a CHILDLINE Project with support from Ministry of Women and Child Development and Child Line India Foundation, Mumbai. Initially, this project was sanctioned for Dist. Shimla only. Toll free No. 1098 will be accessible to all the children (0-18 years of age). Any children seeking help can call and get necessary help from H.P.VHA.<br><br>A two days state level workshop on Women and Health was organized by HPVHA at Parimahal with the help of National Women Commission of India and State Women Commission of H.P. In collaboration with Action-Aid, HP VHA organized two state level workshops and an advocacy workshop for the NGO Partners. The main discussions were on the problems faced by disabled and various Govt. Schemes for them. H.P. VHA organized a workshop on disaster preparedness and management on 21st March at Hotel Holiday Home in collaboration with OXFAM GB. About 40 participants attended the workshop from all over the State. During the year H.P.VHA implemented various other programmes on HIV/AIDS and on other health issues with support from H.P. SACS etc.
