Community Level Action > Arunoday Project > Key Strategies – A Snapshot
VHAI Arunoday Project – a Journey of Partnership & Innovation

The project staff worked diligently towards creating a better governance of all the PHCs with VHAI. Some of the key factors specially taken care of were

  • Improved motivational levels of the staff by creating a supportive hygienic environment; availability of facilities; regular monitoring visits, minimal political interference in staff transfer and posting and; the staff (ANMs and Medical Officers) residing at the duty station.

With this well defined strategy the project has been able to develop a motivated work environment in all its PHCs, the staff living in difficult conditions now tries to deliver healthcare to the community in the best possible manner. Also the local communities’ support has made the entire effort possible. In few villages communities have permitted the use of their traditional houses as Sub Centres.

Another factor considered equally important was to increase the demand for better and quality health services among the community members. This was done through press media by giving the following advertisement in all local newspapers and also displaying outside all PHCs.
