A comprehensive approach to reduce the incidence of child marriages
Marriage -No child’s play (MNCP) is a 5 year programme (2016-2020) aimed to reduce child marriage and its adverse effects on young women and girls. VHAI is a part of global alliance titled 'More than Brides' (MTBA), that is running the Marriage-No child’s play (MNCP) programme for 5 years (2016-2020) in 5 countries with 4 partners that include SIMAVI, Save the Children, Oxfam Novib and Population Council.
The broad goal of the More than Brides Alliance programme is to address the underlying factors influencing child marriage in a manner that expands opportunities for girls and ensures their current and long term well-being.
In India, the program is operational in Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand & Rajasthan.VHAI- is implementing the project in Kholikote Block in the Ganjam District and will be covering all the villages under the block in a phased manner.
The program intends to focus and target geographic with high proportions and numbers of girls at risk of child marriage.
